This is an embarrassing OP. First of all yes, of course, because he is a contemporary thinker dealing with contemporary issues, imaging the future based on our present, etc. Second, a hallmark of his philosophy is the drawing-in of Schmitt and Heidegger (together at all, for one) into a his unique spiritual, geopolitical and eschatological model. Dugin’s eschaton is key to his thought, and it is impossible outside of the 21st century. For God’s sake lurk more before pulling this “x cribbed from x” bullshit that gets this shit board nowhere and just proves to everyone that you haven’t read anything. Holy shit man

Dugin is just not a rigorous thinker and can't frame his arguments and thoughts coherently. That's why he's just a mish mash of actually brilliant thinkers while adding nothing new.

nah, i think you are just coming into these debates with unrealistic expectations. people like carvalho think they can "prove" stuff with "rigorous arguments". dugin is not that ambitious, and is more realistic. reality is murky and complex. dugin's thinking reflects that. at least that's the impression i got from the debate.

I know that he is pretty adament about his whole united Eurasia shit, but that's about it and I don;t care enough to read The Fourth Political Theory (I've head it blows) and there is no good English translation of The Foundation of Geopolitics.
