TBP should have been a book of bullet-point ideas instead of subjecting those poor wooden characters to the humdrum plot. There was only one semblance of a human in the books and you all know who it was.

Ive only read the forever war, but Im guessing its better than modern Chinese scifi as it discusses

that just scratches the surface, doesn't even get to the destroyed immoral society they come back to or the military putting false memories in peoples heads to get them to fight harder

the main character of the third book was better than the first for sure, but borderline wooden

Luo Ji was the best character by far especially for the kek factor of using his power to get a waifu
