Literature to help cope with the amount of suffering in the world?

I just watched that Dominion documentary for the first time (the animal farming one with Joaquin Pheonix) and it's shaken me to my core. I always knew it was bad, but I never imagined cruelty and unimaginable suffering could exist on a scale that large. I've resolved to go vegan, but my moral complicity does nothing to allay the fact that billions of animals will suffer unimaginable pain every single day for the rest of humanity (unless we get fake meat or some shit).

How do I cope with this knowledge? Or am I doomed to spend the rest of my life with these thoughts running through my head?

It's clearly told in the Bible that you are free to slaughter everything. What the fuck is wrong with you?

Try reading The Better Angels of Our Nature: Why Violence Has Declined by Steven Pinker. It will help you feel better about things in general.

Modern animal farming is a far cry from that. Geese are forcefed with a tube rammed down their throats. All farmed animals live practically ankle deep in their feces and are constantly infected.
>>14733779
>cattle are made to be eaten
What an utterly christcucked and unprovable opinion. You cannot ethically defend eating meat. When prodded, you bray out buzzwords like s o y and estrogen to protect your friable self-image from the fact that even top athletes are going vegan. This response is so automatic that you're basically an animal yourself.

This is just resource gathering and competition. Nothing so terrible.

Industrial farming is a requirement to sustain such a large population of humans in the least environmentally damaging way but really in the only way even marginally sustainable.

We should kill humans and destroy industrial farming simply because it produces ugly scenes and undernutriated yucky food (which is only increasing btw). Applies more to greens than meats even. I don't want to eat that pathetic shit LARPing as 'food'. A peasant 600 years ago a great diet with great nutrition and longevity. Freshness means non-degraded resources go into you to make you up, oldness means substantially degraded and broken (freezing) 'food' goes into you and makes you up. You are what you eat, decayed junk.
So please OP, kill yourself and others.

>> No.14734107

>>14733637
I feel you OP. You become somewhat numb to it after a while, (un)fortunately. Trying to cause as little harm as possible and hopefully influence others to do the same might be the most we can do. Or turn the distress into motivation to help others. I’m still struggling with it myself.

Actually I just remembered some animals kill for the heck of it or intend to bring it somewhere to eat later but may not be able to (appearing as though it was for the heck of it). Wild dogs love killing sheep for no fucking reason lol.

Here's a vid on the undernutriated greens. Probably from soil depletion and increased size of greens (but not increased nutrition, it's just water).

Based. He only cares about animals close enough to human to trigger a response. Close enough that he can see human things in them or rather impose human things onto them. What an emotionally greedy hypocrite.

Btw I think depleted soil with demand for large (commercially attractive) greens with large and fast-growing yields has bred crops to have low nutrition. Funny how we'll have 'solved' hunger in the future but really all but the wealthy will be malnourished.

remove infant mortality which is a good thing evolutionarily and it's only a bit under america's today. that's because of modern medicine rather than lifestyle or diet or even fucking air and water quality. it sustains (doesn't cure much) and statistically obscures a sickly population. even teeth and jaws with way better then. we are PATHETIC and filled with poisons.
