It's something that requires a certain level of mental acuity, something which you all lack. It is a world superior to the one of the five senses; it is the world of the mind, since the beginning to the end of times.

Who is in the wrong here? The people in the picture or the anon who is into german idealism? I believe people in the picture are in the right. German Idealism is just highly convoluted esoteric mental gymnastics that nobody cares about. It's equivalent to collecting some anime miniatures. We can pretend that this is perfectly normal, but it's not. People in the picture are on the other hand interested in living life, forming friendships, relatonships, discussing their jobs, networking, making travel plans. They are erudites of life rather than erudites in something as creepy as german idealism. I for one side with the people in the picture.

None of the people in this image are particularity good looking. Don't let the low resolution fool you. As demonstrated by their poor physiognomy, they have smooth brains and aren't worth discussing this topic with anyways. Good bye, plebs, enjoy your smoothing out your ethanol-cum-cum-brains some more without me.

I know this is a meme thread, but could someone please summarize German idealism quickly? Don’t get too fancy with this shit, just give me a quick sentence like
>Stoicism is a philosophy that says to cultivate knowledge and virtue and not be so emotionally manipulated
>Christianity is the belief that Jesus Christ died on a cross and rose from the dead to save our souls
>German idealism is…

The period of German Idealism constitutes a cultural phenomenon whose
stature and influence has been frequently compared to nothing less than the
golden age of Athens. For this reason the era from the 1770s into the 1840s that
we tend to call “the age of German Idealism” is often designated in Germany
simply as the period of “classical German philosophy.”

The texts of German Idealism continue to be an enormous
influence on other fields such as religious studies, literary theory, politics, art,
and the general methodology of the humanities

the literary giants Schiller, Hölderlin, Novalis
(Friedrich von Hardenberg), and Friedrich Schlegel worked with the greatest
intensity on their own philosophical essays and notebooks.
