If i were to write a book about a man who has always been lonely and complacent with his loneliness and who is conflicted as to wether he truly enjoys being alone or he simply made himself believe that, what kind of prose, setting and writing processes should i use? asking for a friend

Make the setting a soulless suburbia, so the main character decides to move to the countryside, only to find out he still desires human company, even if it's of the lowest quality.
You cannot deny your biological programming.
The End

Would make for a decent read, get to work

You need to be exposed to strong levels of weaponized autism, in order to make the main character believable.
Visit the neighbouring board /r9k/ and frequent Incel&MGTOW forums, in order to get into the mood

Have fun
