You’re perfectly qualified to write a story of first loves, but will likely fail if you try to portray something realistic or complex about relationships.
It’s been a popular genre for millenniums, so don’t sweat it, but do some research. Daphnis and Chloe, Romeo and Juliette, etc.

Daphnis and Chloe isn’t tragedy. I only mention Wigglestick because of the romantic language. Maybe look into his poetry too. Read a variety to better inform your stye and themes on the love story.
