You misspelled Gothic Tales in the anthologies section (and Elizabeth Gaskell).

I have I still don't understand what the numogram has to do with accelerationism
how is it connected with Capital
in the hermitix interview Land mentioned that, if capital is defined as a "set of practices of treating words as numbers on basis of a certain, definite set of procedures", it's more understandable
apparently it has something to do with the association between Roman numerals and the new decimal symbols, and is associated with the mindset of viii = v+i+i+i = 5+1+1+1 = 8, that Qabalah applied it to words by adding up letters, and that the numogram applies it back to numbers through the act of plexing (2051 = 2+0+5+1 = 8)
but why is this associated with Capital? How can Capital be seen as the practice of treating words as numbers on the basis of some procedures? How is that associated with Capital, which afaik is just the systems and operations of positive feedback?

Freud, throughout his body of work, made a lot of "corrections", so you need to pay extra attention to footnotes.
You can read it chronologically, unless you want a especific subject. If thats the case, search for it on Vol. XXIV of the standard edition.
Oh, if you can, search for a good translation, since theres a few that are actually good. Here, in Brazil, all the translations german --> english --> portuguese are bad.

Mein Kampf is a terrible starting point for someone getting into fascist/national socialist ideology. For starters, you need a lot of historical and political context, secondly, it's next to impossible to find a non-pozzed translation of Mein Kampf that hasn't been butchered by Jewish editors and annotated and abridged all to hell. Readers need to have a foundation on the core tenets of fascism before moving on to Mein Kampf, if for nothing else than to be able to distinguish between a good translation and a poor one.

interesting take, but throwing people into Evola's post-war writing seems a little bit premature.
admittedly the anchor I used to get into metaphysics was via metahistory so I'm a bit more obsessive about it, but I don't think 'Revolt Against the Modern World', 'The Decline of the West' and 'The Reign of Quantity and the Signs of the Times' are enough of a basis before approaching the development of "New Values" through reading books like 'Ride the Tiger'.

"Revolt..." gives you a framework that you can hold in your head, but not necessarily fully comprehend unless you read:
-More Evola (eg 'The Doctrine of Awakening', 'The Yoga of Power', 'The Hermetic Tradition', 'The Mystery of the Grail')
-More Guénon (eg 'Introduction to the Study of the Hindu Doctrines', 'Man and His Becoming According to the Vedanta')
-Eliade (eg 'The Myth of the Eternal Return', which he recommended himself as the first to read of his works - I've also read 'The Sacred and the Profane', they're very similar books)
-Coomaraswamy (I've only read his posthumous 'What is Civilisation?' essay collection, but I have my eyes on the stuff listed under Metaphysics on his wiki page, plus 'Am I My Brother's Keeper?')
-Watts (specifically 'The Supreme Identity', which he wrote after becoming freshly acquainted with the work of Guénon and Coomaraswamy, a surprisingly good book from the ostensibly pseud exponent to beatniks and hippies)

In addition, more metahistory that is worth reading in conjunction:
-Toynbee's 'A Study of History'
-Spengler's other works, principally 'Preußentum und Sozialismus', which can be bought in English in the book 'Prussian Socialism and Other Essays'. 'Man and Technics' was disappointingly surplus to requirements IMO, 'The Hour of Decision' does present a curiously prophetic take on the precipitation of critical theory and intersectional politics form a conservative's standpoint.
-Ludovici's 'A Defence of Aristocracy', if (after Prussianism & Socialism) you thirst for more of an understanding of where the Eternal Anglo came from - just be prepared to ignore the author's support for incestuous ganglian lamarckism with a dose of de Gobineau's shit tier racial theory.
-Sunic's 'Against Democracy and Equality', to understand the Nouvelle Droit/European New Right, how it differs from the Alt-Right, and how it critiques classical liberalism as necessarily leading to progressive politics.

What this chart gets right is putting 'Men Among the Ruins', 'Ride the Tiger', and 'The Bow and the Club' late in the reading list.

What it gets totally wrong is putting 'Pagan Imperialism' directly before, and not directly after, 'Revolt Against the Modern World'.

What it sort of gets wrong, in my opinion, is starting with 'The Mystery of the Grail' - reading it before, and not after 'The Hermetic Tradition', 'The Doctrine of Awakening' and 'The Yoga of Power'. It's not entirely flawed. 'The Mystery of the Grail' is such a great book that you are sure to return to it after reading a lot more of his work, but I don't know why you'd want to read a book that focuses so specifically on the Matter of Britain before learning about the underlying principles first. If you read/re-read it later, you will get more from it.

What is up for debate is whether you should read 'The Mystery of the Grail' thru 'The Yoga of Power' before 'Revolt...' and 'Pagan Imperialism' (as the chart suggests), or start with 'Revolt...' and 'Pagan Imperialism' first before following the former pathway, and finishing with the post-war stuff ('Men Among the Ruins', 'Ride the Tiger' and 'The Bow and the Club').
I would personally rec starting with 'Revolt...' because it's less crunchy and profound, and gives you a comprehensible exoteric framework as a launchpad to understanding the more detailed esoteric stuff.

In other words, I'd say the reading order is
-Revolt Against the Modern World
-Pagan Imperialism (optional IMO, also available from some publishers as Heathen Imperialism)
-The Hermetic Tradition
-The Mystery of the Grail
-The Doctrine of Awakening
-Men Among the Ruins
-Ride the Tiger
-The Bow and the Club

I haven't actually read 'Meditation on the Peaks', 'Eros and the Mysteries of Love', 'Metaphysics of War' or 'The Path of Cinnabar', so I can't say where to place them - however, I wouldn't consider them optional. So if you've read the above, definitely also read these. 'Recognitions', 'Fascism Viewed from the Right', 'Notes on the Third Reich', 'A Traditionalist Confronts Fascism' and 'Introduction to Magic' may or may not be of interest to you, YMMV.

Sure whatever, read it before 'The Doctrine of Awakening' as the chart suggests I guess.

Good post.
Recognitions is basically Bow and Club pt.2. Introduction to Magic is good if you liked Hermetic Tradition.

As for some of the other ones, Metaphysics of War is really solid but also easy to grasp, would put that before or after Pagan Imperialism.

The Path of Cinnabar is one of a kind (possibly his best), could go anywhere, both as an introduction or overview of his entire thought/catalog.

I've not read enough Guénon to authoritatively inform you on reading order.
By which I mean, I've only ever read 'The Crisis of the Modern World', and - after having read Evola and Spengler and Toynbee etc - I found nothing in it that profoundly added to what I had already read.
That is unfair on Guénon, given he preceded Evola, and my exposure to those very ideas were Guénon's through Evola.
So that is something to think about. Are you reading Guénon having read other traditionalists, or Evola, beforehand, or is Guénon going to be your introduction to the perennial philosophy of the traditionalists?
Someone else posted a Guénon chart earlier, here >>14734787 - and I assume its maker knows better than I do.

If you're reading Guénon as an intro to traditionalism, then 'The Crisis of the Modern World' will be fine. If you're already familiar with those ideas, you'll likely find more value in his works on Hinduism, Symbolism, Counter-Tradition etc.

What I do feel confident in saying, is that the 3 books in the lower left corner of the chart ('Spiritual Authority & Temporal Power', 'Perspectives on Initiation' and 'Initiation & Spiritual Realization') are the ones covering the main topics of contention between Guénon and Evola's thought.
It would be unfair of me not to read those and allow Guénon the chance to convince me of his position, however in relation to their subject matter, I already feel convinced of Evola's position.

I've never even understood the criteria for making these /lit/ starter kits. Most of the time they're always good books, but there doesn't seem to be any theme to them.

Ideally, I feel like the perfect /lit/ starter kit should be something that exposes new readers to different styles of prose, an introduction to verse, some type of pairing between literature and history to understand how to use non-fiction for context of historical works. Probably some basic philosophy thrown in there too.

But most of these /lit/ starter kits just look like someone ran down the list of a high school English class's curriculum and grabbed one of everything. That tactic sure as fuck doesn't work for American public schools, it's doing a huge disservice for new adult readers as well.

I would appreciate any more reading charts on important books for the far left - Marxism, Critical Theory, Intersectionality etc.
I would prefer more political theory books than the sort of polemics written to appeal to emotion that talk about the author's experience of being a Pakistani growing up in 1970's Britain etc.
I want to understand the value system, the worldview and the frame of reference that "the other side" has adopted, because I consistently get the impression that people on either side of the political debate picture their political opponents as being on the opposite side of their own framework of ideals, when in fact it seems to me that different political camps run completely tangential to one another, and trying to understand the opponent within your own framework and not theirs, is incoherent.

I asked earlier but didn't get any replies.
The only one I'm aware of, which I read almost a decade ago now, is the 2 'Endgame' volumes by Derrick Jensen.
Jensen's approach to the matter is entrenched in the language of Critical Theory and Marxism that pervade the progressive left - a lot of the tone of the book is polemic, with a fair measure of railing against the patriarchy and associating white males with a supremacist hegemony.
Since reading his books, my own political beliefs have significantly diverged from his in that respect.
However, I cannot deny the influence those 'Endgame' books had on me, and he definitely made pertinent points that stand on their own even when the partisan, identitarian bullshit is removed, so I would still rec.
Jensen is the only "left-wing" deep ecologist I'm personally aware of.

Only tangentially related, around that time I also read 'The World Without Us' by Alan Weisman, which - if I recall correctly - is a largely apolitical and dispassionate look at the effects humanity has had on the environment, and how nature would reclaim and remediate what we would leave behind if we hypothetically all just disappeared.

Also forgot to mention, my brother bought me a copy of 'Half-Earth' by Edward O. Wilson, which I haven't read.
I don't know to which degree it could be called "deep ecology" or "preservationism" vs "conservationism".
However, as per the blurb, if it is mere conservationism, what it suggests is far more radical and far-reaching than anything that's been attempted so far.

>Aztec philosophy was a school of philosophy that developed out of Aztec culture. The Aztecs had a well-developed school of philosophy, perhaps the most developed in the Americas and in many ways comparable to Ancient Greek philosophy, even amassing more texts than the ancient Greeks. Aztec philosophy focused on dualism, monism, and aesthetics, and Aztec philosophers attempted to answer the main Aztec philosophical question of how to gain stability and balance in an ephemeral world.
