Okay so now /lit/ has become a mainstream board all of a sudden in less time than 24 hours?

What the fuck? How will we suddenly deal with all the newfags? I mean we are e/lit/ists after all and shit.

Should we carry on with all the Ayn Rand, Sci-Fi hate, eBook help and other general bullcrap we repeat on a daily basis.

I WELCOME ANY NEW PEOPLE TO /LIT/.

THE SHIT STIRRERS ALWAYS EVENTUALLY LEAVE ON THEIR OWN ACCORD.

Fucking agreed fellow c/lit/.

>>1467649
Doesn't seem faster currently, but I imagine with the news and all that shit we will get some more /r9k/ travelers, who will prop themselves here and wish to talk about "The Catcher in the Rye" or some other melodramatic crap.

haha no! really! i don't know shit about him. john campbell mentioned it on his site and i was intrigued and bought it. i didn't know that tao lin was some internet celebrity. that kind of sucks.

Maybe people will come in and actually not be pompous and discuss trolliterature.

Lol, no but really maybe.

>> No.1469235

i find it funny that there's not much tao lin hate on /lit/...people seem more like 'meh'

His writing is so bland as to inspire neither emotion. This is a bad thing. Tao Lin should GTFO of literature.

>>1469235
It's like a forced meme sort of deal, and I think most people here have ceased to care enough to vehemently oppose the author itself (remember /lit/ is pretty laid back compared to other boards).

>>1467684
But the pompousness is one of the aspects that makes /lit/ not complete garbage.

i really disagree with you there. that's the very reason why the ambivalent opinion on tao lin surprises me--you put up something like "i like so-and-so, recommend me some more" and you'll definitely posts saying "so-and-so was entry-level shit compared to whatshisname, read blahblahblah etc"
also, at first, he was appealing to me because of the twitter/facebook-update pointlessness of his prose...now it's more like an annoying fallout from virtual social networks.

>> No.1469298

I like tao lin as a person but his writing is nothing more than gimicky satire that gets stale before you're 2/3 through it.

Perhaps the same could be said of all religions.
