He cannot engage purely with the abstract concept and brings it down to the baseline material which is a rookie mistake, all you have to do is read the introduction to grasp this. He has no idea of contingency and solely points out concrete which, for a Buddhist, I thought it would be easier to understand. The colorlessness of the statues is arbitrary to the meaning behind it. and its obvious that his basis is in ancient western and eastern sources without the rationalist or empericism that predicated g. idealism.
