If you guys have a problem with ebooks and ereaders, why don't you have a problem with audio books?

>> No.1465008

Actually, I feel the opposite. I only listen to audiobooks when I have to. I'm cool with e(readers/books).

herp a derp burp and slurp.

What is the connection? Being read aloud to and having a screen instead of page are entirely different experiences and concepts...

People like the act of reading. The weight of the book, the smell, the individuality of each book, the page turning. In both audiobooks and ereaders you lose that.

>> No.1465025

I love audiobooks. In fact, I always listen to audiobooks, instead of using just regular books.

Ok but if you're into paper then you obviously dislike both. I dislike e-readers but I don't mind audiobooks, never thought that was a hypocrisy.

>> No.1465632

I don't have a problem with either.

A friend's cousin got a Kindle this Christmas; didn't have a backlight. What a backwards-ass, crock of shit. I haven't seen the Nook yet, but an e-reader without a built-in backlight seems to be worth as much money as a real book.

>> No.1465646

your friend is just an idiot who wouldn't spend the extra $30-40 for a cover with a backlight

>> No.1465661

Reading is reading. I don't give a fuck what medium or how they accomplish it by.

>> No.1465671

Audiobooks are a different experience. A reading is different than a text.

Also, I don't think audiobooks have ever been considered a replacement for real books. More like a supplement or situational alternative.

>> No.1465705

I liek my kindle. I do not care for audiobooks

>problem with audio books

It's too slow compared to reading.
