Anyone else feel more excited to read thicc books rather than short books?

No but I feel excited over thicc boobs

Thicc books terrify me.

Critique of Pure Reason has been sitting on my shelf emasculating me for close to 3 months now.

Depends. For enjoyable easy reading fiction, yes I love some thicc. But when it comes to dense philosophy or literature they intimidate me.

This is something I like about my Amazon Kindle™, I'm not being constantly reminded of the length of the book and I can take it page by page without psyching myself out.

this one is 2000 pages of glorious soul illuminating consciousness expanding thiccness

Short books look more aesthetic tho. Especially if they have a minimalist cover.

I'm beginning to fall in love with Kant. Read the Prolegomena and then go for the Critique.

No. Saying more with less is more impressive. Also the time machine is the best short story of all time. The only the more impressive than good short stories or novellas is good poetry.

If a book is over 500 pages it's a red flag for me. Most stories don't take more than 100-200 pages to tell if that and a 1000-page thicc boi is a sign of an author that couldn't get his shit together.

I like shorter books. They fit better in my bag, so I can read them anywhere. Perhaps it's a "cope," but I feel like saying more with less is higher art. Japanese modernist authors seem quite good at this. Cioran does this well with his aphoristic stuff, too.

Not usually, but you've succeeded in it for me anon.

Yes. More content, generally.
That's not always a good thing though.
