Hey /lit/ it's my dad's birthday on the 21st and I'm thinking about getting him a book but I've drawn a complete blank and can't think what to get.

He's an ex cop with a taste for classical music if that's anything to work with :/

Any suggestions?

that'll teach him not to be such a bigot

He's in no way a biggot... He served the force for 35 years and always did his best to help everyone and go out of his way to help citizens.

There's nothing wrong with classical music and just because he likes it doesn't make him a biggot.

Thanks for your input asshole.

Maybe Sherlock Holmes stuff? That's always a fun mystery/crime thriller type read.

Hound of the Baskervilles is the most famous novel, though I think the short stories are better.

I'll have a look, thanks bro :)

>>1462949

I don't think he'd appreciate it as much as most people do... But I'll lend him the book and film sometime to see what he thinks.

>>1462972

Ah never thought of Sherlock Holmes, thanks a bunch man :)

You're a retard dude... Let me get this straight, you watch the news so you think that you can form an opinion and you've somehow categorised all police officers as abusive?

My dad was never abusive and he received numerous awards including one for bravery when he fought a man in a house while he was wielding a knife and trying to kill his baby boy. My dad got stabbed in his left flank and still fought to defend an innocent child.

You're a prime example of someone who believes what they see on tv, thanks for your contribution to society you piece of shit.

I've seen the medals bro, and I was there when he accepted some of them.

Stop being an idiot and don't form a biased opinion of someone just because it's painfully obvious that you've had some kind of run-in with an abusive police officer.

That, or, yeah, you're just a retard...

This has gone from me asking what to get my dad for his birthday to me trying to prove my father's bravery...

Honestly, this place really is populated with scum...

Shit like this happens every day, and yeah, like I said there probably is a newspaper article but it happened when I was 4/5 so I doubt that I'm gonna pick up a paper and read it at that age...

Yeah I'm sure kid

you probably seen the parades they've thrown for him too eh?
you've seen first first-hand how much the people love him?

no you haven't

no one likes a pig

tv shows could really help me here, I'm still thinking Chekhov tho

Cool man, I don't have to justify anything to you. I know that my dad is a great man and I know that a numerous amount of police officers are abusive, but my father never was. If you met him you'd believe me instantly, everyone likes him.

Anyway, I've decided here so you can stop trying to make yourself justified in your beliefs and go back to crying to some other person who doesn't give a fuck if your spic family got slapped by a cop for refusing to put extra chillies on his burrito.
