All modern books are by definition not postmodern. That said, good books written after 1960 that aren't obnoxiously maximalist

>Greybeard by Brian Aldiss (science fiction pulp that's actually really good)
>anything Vonnegut (easy high school level stuff that's popular with vacuous sorts who want to look "literary," but it's not as bad as its most vocal fans)
