While exercising, focus on the muscles or whatever you are exercising
While walking, focus on silence

Focus isn't crucial, but it enhances your performance. It sets a clear task for your system. One could be training his muscles with full performance, or giving full attention to the ideas a book is trying to present. But multitasking menial tasks with intellectual ones is half-assed bullshit - the human body is not wired for multitasking, afaic understand.
In case someone is too zoomer to just get shit done one at a time, they could listen to invigorating music before (not during) working out.

I don't think so especially for walking, it can even help you focus on the book. It occupies just enough of your brain to reduce its need for distraction.
