Remember when this shit was a meme and everyone decried the state of millennials? Now we have zoomers that aren’t even capable of reading a book. Funny how things change

Did Tao really shill his books here?

>> No.14594314

>He walked to a cafe near Type books and asked on one of the two threads on 4chan about him that, for some reason, had appeared the last two days -- and, with two to four hundred posts each, 90 to 95 percent derogatory, were the two longest threads on him that he'd ever seen -- if anyone in Toronto could sell him MDMA or mushrooms within two hours.

has anyone ever found this thread on the archives?

Tao is a life force of /lit/. You'll find some posters invoking or incanting Mr. Lin to aid them in various literary tasks.

Tao doesn't shill but he will go out of his way to support other writers. I think he posts the Megan Boyle threads, or at least is friendly with whoever does.

I went to a Tao Lin reading back in his heyday because it was free with student ID. There were a bunch of people outside saying shit like "you should really hear Tao Lin talk. He's the voice of a generation!"

When he got on stage and talked he recited a list of the books he'd written. When the audience asked him questions about his inspirations or favorite authors, his reply was always the same: "I don't know. I just like them."

Most literature written after 1980 is shit. Stick to the classics.

Kill yourself. I watched the first three minutes and it's typical cringy zoomer "comedy".
"Ihih guys look, here's funny pictures me and my mate used to send one another. One of them is about ass-eating. Ihih ahah we're so wacky and crazy and we do drugs. Did I mention we do drugs? Also, we're totally like, depressed and stuff."

If you think this is funny I'm afraid salvation is a lost cause.
