Just read a book on the history of literature and you'll have enough books on your to-read list until the end of your life. You haven't even read every Shakespeare play, why would you need some pseud on Goodreads to recommend you things?

Crito is not a pseud and is in fact a great and smart guy with useful reviews, though.

Yeah, I've seen this guy's reviews a couple of times -- he's clearly well-read, but far too verbose, and not clever enough with it, though cleverer than most; a very common problem with Goodreads reviews -- unfortunately his opinions seem to be horse wank; I have seen him deliberate them very textually, analytic of the prose, albeit cynically -- but he did not really decide against these details, merely picked them out, and then incorporated them into some godawfully myopic take; typically immature mindset: to use negativities as building-blocks. Evidently he received a "good" (Yank) [read: expensive!] education in English Lit, and is quite intelligent -- the real strong point is in how he lays out those nits he's picked, he makes forceful arguments on small patches, but it's charlatanism, because he doesn't really believe in them; it's just a skill, learned from high-powered tutorial classes of two or three undergrads -- I can imagine, the eye-contact, his careful feeding-back of one's own language; anybody in the non-trades professional world will know this characteristic perhaps intimately: learned charisma, and a lawyer's argumentation; or learned argumentation, and a lawyer's charisma. But lacking particularly in experience, character, discernment, depth -- the accusation of verbosity is perhaps unfair, though he has written the longest reviews I have seen, he does not waffle, merely steps out his exam-readied nits picked, very deterministically, not even elaborately, but especially with regards to the textual criticism, in true longhand -- so, concision has not been learned -- almost reminds one of a high-powered small-classroom situation... where you report your homework back orally, in full, with feeling, even (but probably learned feeling; this depends on the institutions) -- an MBA thrown in with every degree! -- with no need to cut oneself short, or listen to any sort of input, negative or not, from one's peers, just to the tutor, to whom is owed the piece's existence in the first place -- certainly nothing of the fellow in question has gone into it -- just somebody with certain ideas of themselves, for who else is there? Barring a small handful of those who are similar, who have created their own pieces to serve the question -- it sounds a little bit like Goodreads, doesn't it?
