Nietzsche's criticism of Christianity was that it requires you to hate your own will in order to be devout, I'd hardly call that "idealistic." I'm not sure what you mean by "has no basis in reality" but if you're referring to how there isn't a literal God then Nietzsche didn't care about that shit.
