Whenever I'm interested in a famous writer or scientist X in field Y, I go to Wikipedia and find this

>X was an Austrian-born American Y

Why do Americans do this? What issue lies behind this?

I don’t see the problem? If they were born and maybe raised in one country, but then later spent their entire adult life and career in the US (gain citizenship, etc) then they are Americans who just happened to not be born there. Same goes with really any other country. Would you consider Kazuo Ishiguro to not be British?

Not him, but I'd just like to interject for a moment and say that Kazuo Ishiguro is only British to me because he isn't a paki or a nigger. Pakistani Muslims don't become British, not ever.

But that's not what's the case, it's almost 100 just 30-40yo men who left during WWII and from then on they are sold as Americans to their people

It’s called citizenship retard. “American” isn’t something you have to be born as
