I've never gotten that argument. If not all people belonging to your race are on board with this idea, and other parts of society are willing to cooperate, then your interests are with your own people ideologically, not just ethnically. Not all people of a certain ethnicity are united on the same issues; in fact; no one group except that of like minded people ideologically, share the same ideology, by definition. Race, nationality, sex, gender, fandom, etc., dont clearly draw lines on what that particular group wants, even when people unite themselves within those groupings. The only groupings that actually have unity between them, are ones with total ideological unity, even when people try to conflate something else with an ideology.

You cant have a cohesive society that doesnt have autonomy in the way they are governed anymore. If you replace a system where people have autonomy with one where they do not, in any area, you'll be called an authoritarian and people are going to revolt. If you create a system where you give people false autonomy, you need to control more than would deem beneficial for it to work out in your favour. I personally think its immoral not to have autonomy in any sect of your life, but if you really want to control people, you need to make a false democracy and have enough misinformation so that parties in your country support your regime unquestioningly or you're still fucked, and the best ways to do that, are with communities of strength, and those crumble as soon as they begin drawing lines within the party, which they inevitably do, because no-one is perfect.
