Reminder that if you genuinely think Jordan Peterson has anything meaningful to say you are a midwit. Somebody post that list of pseuds, the one that has Peterson, Shapiro, all those guys on it. Every single one of them is a pseud and only pseuds get anything of value from them.

If Peterson took the time to read more than the five books he's already read he might make it.

If it is not the man who solved the world without actually knowing anything at all.

His lack of knowledge about modern conservative scholars is telling.

E.g. John Kekes - astonishingly brilliant

Dunno, John Kekes? I know he's older than Scruton, but he seems like a good name to me.
Theodore Dalrymple too, even though he sometimes looks too reactionary to me.

Do John Finnis and Patrick Deneen count as obscure?

>> No.14529173

Michael Oakeshott - he's not by any means kinda obscure, but has brought several orginal takes to modern conservatism

Gertrude Himmelfarb - recently deceased, she was an outstanding American historian;

João Carlos Espada - he's Portuguese but has several writings in english;

Theodore Dalrymple - pseudonym of Anthony Daniels, he is not a scholar per se, but a social critic. You need to take his writings with a grain of salt: when he's right, he's 100% right. But the same goes for when he's wrong.

Me. I can piss in one and shit in the other. However his shoes are quite big so I might need additional help.

Brazilian here. Olavo is terrible. Don't compare him to serious writers like Scruton, Dalrymple and John Lukacs.

>> No.14530057

>>14524766
I think he means Charles Murray.

Douglas Murray is pretty alright and also quite a careful writer. He doesn't make too many bold claims and always studies the subject before criticizing it.

I believe the request for "obscure" conservative scholars from anon was about real scholars that are not well known by the general public.

Kekes, Oakeshott, Himmelfarb, Espada, Lukacs, Strauss and Dalrymple are the real deal.

Johnson simply is not at the same level.

Keuhnel-Leddihn is not relevant and, quite frankly, a reactonary in the worst sense.

Olavo is just laughable. You'd be better off reading Twilight or something like it.
