Just ordered this because I want to read some good female fantasy writers. Did I screw up or was it a good move? Is there any other female fantasy writers I can try out?

>please no obvious ones like Ursula Le Guin or JK Rowling

L Jagi Lamplighter is interesting, I enjoyed Prospero Lost.
Leigh Brackett- more scifi than fantasy, but some cross over to the fantastic. Wrote much of Empire Strikes Back.
Marie de France, if Arthuriana can count as fantasy.

It's great. Read her SF as well, Downbelow Station is a masterpiece.

I've enjoyed Janny Wurts's To Ride Hell's Chasm, its start was a bit slow but it was solid sword & sorcery. I could also recommend Marta Randall's The Sword of Winter.

She also wrote the Chanur novels which are quite possibly the best examples of the scifi genre I've seen not just from a female writer, but in general.
