Can someone please point me to a credible dictionary that has a definition of 'irony' that matches the creative diahreea the zoomers of 4chan consider to be humorous? The only irony I consistently see is people misusing the term as a justification for forced giggling at their sincerely inept wit. The comedic device is often no more complex than a baby laughing at jiggling car keys. That isn't irony. Also, being an idiot isn't irony even if you happen to recognize it later. This isn't a bait thread I'm seriously wondering if their is literature that can explain this abuse of the English language.
