I'm reading "All Or Nothing: Systematicity, Transcendental Arguments, and Skepticism in German Idealism" and I think its good. German Idealism is probably the most complicated/intricate school of philosophy there is, and the book is very good at ordering the explanations of concepts such that the development of the ideas in the project always seem motivated, and the entire project seems directed towards something, instead of just being a massive web of strangely defined concepts, that magically result in weird opinions of morality and politics.

I just finished the Hyperion Cantos last night. Liked it. Good world-building, nice mix of fun and romantic action and philosophical exposition, and it surprisingly dealt with technological themes that have been the talk of this past decade, despite being written decades earlier. 4/5

Thus Spoke Zarathustra

Nietzsche is kind of an autist, but his ideas are good. His writing style is striking but it does make it a bit tricky not to misinterpret him. Though that might be the point since I came across an essay in a Cambridge Nietzche companion that he believed that knowledge cannot be in objective fixed conditions, making it thus an interpretative act. Would appreciate if he wrote less autistic honestly

Pic related, it's okay. Mainly reading it so I can get a prom date. My mom also constantly threatens to kick me out of the house, so if I seduce a woman I'll have somewhere to crash.

Yes, but it generally lacks context in itself if you don't have a tasfir or sira of Muhammad.

American Psycho was the best book. Rules was okay. Like you say, kind of fun. Most his other books just didn't click with me and I thought they were trash. Still some I haven't read for that reason.

Aristotle's Ethics.
I can read a lot more of it in a sitting than I could with Plato even if it doesn't have the same charm. I'm enjoying the straight forward contrast to Plato. Probably gonna read Politics after and maybe the Organon, how long is it?

An enquiry concerning human understanding. I honestly thought Hume was some fat retarded Anglo, but it turns out he was Scottish and based. The book is great in terms of philosophy, for it serves as the source to Kant's thought.

Don Quixote

My girlfriend broke up with me a half hour before midnight on New Year’s Eve and then threatened suicide a half hour afterwards after she left our party so to be honest, I probably have too much on my mind to give this work the thought and attention it deserves.

I feel so empty and can’t shake the feeling of constant unease. Going back to work on Monday as well.

Sorry OP, I know this wasn’t exactly what you were looking for but I needed to get that off my chest to someone.

I'm currently reading A Wild Sheep Chase and Man's Search for Meaning. Sheep Chase, so far, has not impressed me as much as the other Murakami books I've read in terms of prose style, but I've had an oddly good time learning about sheep. It's also brandishes a fantastic sense of humor. Man's Search for Meaning is invaluable as a insider account of inhumanity in war and as the germ of existentialist psychotherapy.
