Might be a bit blogpostish but im seriously looking for literature on this topic.
>tfw i realize that even if i got a gf, got married, got kids id still be unhappy.
>tfw i realize that even if there came an ethnostate or global communism (without it collapsing), i'd still be unhappy.
>tfw realize that even if we were to conquer the stars and spread through the galaxy, it'd ultimately be completely pointless and meaningless, an endless repetition of the same thing.
I cant really put it to words adequately, but it feels like everything has lost meaning. Even if we were to achieve the greatest things, it'd ultimately have no meaning, and it causes a great depression on me. Even things i used to be excited for, such as technological progression or space travel, now just fill me with apathy or despair. It all feels fake and hollow now.
Any books for this?
And dont say Guenon or the Stoics.

Schopie also has this sentiment, but he doesnt really offer any solution to it other than a total negation of existence itself.

Total negation is the solution. What better life than a quiet and content one where you could enjoy art and philosophy without any worries? He elaborates more in "On the Wisdom of Life".

But you cant enjoy those, as they are intrinsically worthless.

You haven't read Schopie, have you? Art and philosophy offer a venue for escape from the restlessness of the will.

Your expectations are broken. You expect a wife and a child, both entities endowed with a similar consciousness to your own, to make you happy when you are disproving happiness right now by being unhappy. A wife and kids amplify both joy and sadness. An underrated trait of a family is their independence and autonomy. This autonomy will cause you undue or unjust suffering, but will also provide unearned happiness from time to time too. Life with a family becomes more volatile and that volatility provides otherwise unusual or virtually impossible experiences. The cost of entering into a communal living situation instead of independent living situation is independence. If your independent "logical" existence is solved and unhappy, then perhaps the solution really is inviting agents of chaos into your life. Children especially are full of delightfully interesting irrationality if nothing else.

Being an outside observer of a world of order is a miserable experience. You cannot derive joy from celebration of order because your own affairs are perfectly orderly and you are still miserable. Or the order of the world is what is causing you anguish. It's irresponsible and juvenile to inflict chaos upon the world, but it is noble to raise a child who's nature is chaotic. Insanity and irrationality are perfectly proper traits for children. Once you are responsible for protecting a little piece of chaos you will understand why the rest of the world gets so much meaning out of celebrating order.
