I was mocked relentlessly because anime "is for kids" and they didn't watch it. I'm sure the writing was garbage as well, this was back in 2004 or so (highschool), but it was more that no one understood why I wrote fanfiction on an online forum. Adults even inquired as if they were worried about me "and you write online about... What?"

I remember crying and deleting every post I ever made so they would stop reading them while I wasn't around and making fun of me. Honestly one of the worst times of my life in my formative years. I realize it's not that bad in the grand scheme of things but it ducked me up.

Dragonbsll Z there was a form dbzn.net and they had a fanfiction rpg that was a lot of fun for me. I didn't even play videogames at all the two-three years I was doing it. All I did was write, I didn't even do my school work beyond the bare minimum. It wasn't just fanfiction either but poetry and art (making avatars and signatures in Photoshop; art contests, and so on). I remember my step brother reading an emo rap poem I wrote outloud to my other brother and his friends. It's 100% cringe but it's kinda what I imagine being outed as gay must be like.
