Anyone know about the connection between Brahms and Schoenberg. If there even is one or about Brahms and the Second Viennese School. I've been very curious about these connections in music.

Contains Schoenberg's orchestration of Brahms' g minor piano quartet opus 25. Also Schoenberg Five Pieces for Orch, opus 16, and an arrangement of a Monn cello concerto.

If you know how to read you would do well to look at Schoenberg's Harmonielehre (Theory of Harmony in English). Arnold knew tonal harmony and late 19th century practice better than anybody and saw Brahms as a grandfather, metaphorically speaking.
