The Hunger Games Trilogy
American Gods
Hull Zero Three
The Forge of God
All Hardcover

This a good buy? I've never read any but American Gods and I've been meaning to get into Greg Bear and the Hunger Games were a suggestion from my girlfriend

>> No.1441550

This is just my Amazon cart, right now. So, I'm taking suggestions on books. All that gets me to around 50 bucks, which is my limit.

Hunger games is crap, buy battle royale instead
American Gods is decent
Greg bear is generally not bad

Battle Royale AND Ender's Game did it better.

I recommend Let the Right One In

1st Hunger Games book is OK
2nd & 3rd are boring like hell

She also recommended the Foundation trilogy, which I could also buy and swap out Hunger Games with

But I'm looking for general sci-fi / fantasy. Stuff in a series. Very epic and large scale.

I was eying the Baroque Cycle but, I'm not sure if I'd want to buy that

Baroque cycle is awesome. My favorite Stephenson work of everything he's done.

Epic Sci-fi?

Try Absolution Space by Alistair Reynolds, or Foundation by Asimov

>> No.1441671

Hm. Okay. This completely passed my mind but I was hearing so much of it lately.
A Song of Ice and Fire. How is that?

Fantastic, but if it ever does get finished don't expect it to be before you're middle aged.

Well, I'm only 19 so all I have is time.
