I used to be ebook-only, but I started buying used books at thrift stores and now I can't stop. Why is this so addicting?

Because it's exciting to find something wonderful or unexpectedly. Kind of like a treasure hunt.

What have you bought recently, OP?

just some classic literature. i'm both surprised at how cheap it is (5 books for less than $12) and the patrician selection i'm finding. they had things i never expected to see in print in my entire life.

Make sure to scan, ocr and convert to ebook anything unavailable. Since you wont read them it's the least you can do

Same. My local thrift store has paperbacks for $1, hardbacks for $2 and fill a bag for $10. Their selection is kinda shit tho, but I go there once in a while and sometimes come back with some nice finds.

Well there's your answer, silly. If you can find great books in great quantities for a great price, it's only natural that you're enjoying it so much.

Stop buying books NOW and finish the ones you have. Big stacks of books that are doubtful to even touch in the next 5 years is demoralizing.

I only bought books I already read, though. I wouldn't buy a book I haven't read yet, because what if it turned out to be shit?

Actually, it's kind strange that used books are dirt cheap while new books still sell for like $35.

HA! There's place near me that has paperbacks for 50¢, hardcover for $1.

Can't fill a bag though, and they're only open in the summer.
