Doing IQ tests.

This, IQ tests are flawed in determining intelligence. But that's because it's not what it's for.

It's useful in determining retardation in adolescents.

Well, having more information to go back to, can help when it comes to problem solving (and problem solving is the most basic definition of intelligence). Though a more productive approach is probably more practical, as in putting yourself in situations to challenge your intelligence.

People overestimate the accuracy of these tests. I'm pretty fucking stupid and when I had one done back when I was 17, I got an result ranging from ~115 to 130 while mostly not even trying. These kind of tests are, if anything, not an accurate measurement of intelligence, but a test to see if you're retarded.

If you are older than 25, probably not. If you are younger then yes. Anything involving logic and and abstraction does it. Philosophy as well as math and the sciences.

reading does not increase iq

as far as we know, nothing can increase iq, other than doing practicing iq tests, which does not crease intelligence, it only increases how good you are at taking iq tests.

malnutrition can decrease iq, but being well nourished does not increase it.

>> No.14395290

You could read a book to find out.

>> No.14395297

If you having being doing nothing but playing video games for 5 years and browsing social media until your brain has turned to mush then maybe reading some books would see some marginal gains, like a few points. Your potential for intelligence is most likely a hard limit, but chances are you are not operating at your full potential. Even if this is the case you would be better off practising on IQ tests, and IQ test adjacent things like puzzles and number games.

acid can make you think you are a genius, thus increasing your confidence and ultimately your intelligence, since intelligence is socially constructed. It can also cause a psychotic outbreak but then you can always write a book about it.

No, reading stupid fictional stories won't magically increase your intelligence. Intelligence is often equated to problem solving skills and how fast you can solve problems, literally how IQ tests are even measured

That voice is true self, separated from the physiological mechanizations of your brain, telling you to wake up and start showing up to your own life

You are correct, I assumed they live in a city. Still, many hallucinogens grow in the wild which then can get ahold of, which aren't illegal simply because it's impossible to regulate.
>good luck getting something that isn't a honeypot.
Depends on where you live and where you get it from, you're generally safe if you've only bought a single lsd blotter. Drug scams on the deep web are also rather rare unless you go to very phishy sites no one knows, which you shouldn't be doing unless you're looking for something very specific and very illegal.

>can't say inb4 /lit/ liberals claim IQ tests can't into science, because it's literally the first few posts

There is sadly little you can do post-puberty to increase your IQ.

You probably just wanna make sure you have a good diet with all macros and micros in check, good sleep, and plenty of exercise and cardio. But these are not things that ''raise'' IQ, they're just things that if you don't do them, you're running on a fraction of your mental potential. Your crystallized potential for abstract general intelligence is pretty much set.

Physiologically, training at a task typically only makes you good at the particular task.

Which.... is not to say it's a bad thing.... you should want to read more because you get to enrich yourself with the ideas and thoughts of smart people who have done the work for you. You learn to think critically about what you read, and you learn meditation and dedication.

Read for the sake of enjoyment, but in all things try to avoid gorging on the cheap fun fluffy stuff. Challenge yourself with some of the great works, or the classics. Determine your tastes.

Also, fyi on the IQ thing, literally just love yourself and enjoy a balanced, disciplined life. Balance out the Apollonian and the Dionysian. You are not a machine, you are not a production-tool that needs to be optimized (an err of the right and masculine, typically), just as much as leftists or the feminized make the mistake of compulsive consumption.

There is more to a human being than being effective at a task. Try to be kind, try to better yourself in the ways you can. Try not to hate yourself for your genetic shortcomings, or at least try to overcome them, or decay gracefully.
