I'm, not sure if this is exactly the right place to ask this but anyway;

I'm learning Hindi, I've finished a 10-hour audiobook and done some reading of learn Hindi books, as well as conversing with Asian friends - I'm a britbong so there's lots of them about.

However, I'm in a bit of an awkward middle point - I can't yet understand Hindi in the movies beyond a few simple sentences, and the Hindi taught in books is literary Hindi that no one actually speaks in real life or in the movies, and it's genuinely about 50% of the words being different.

Shall I just pay an Indian to teach me over skype, or is there another solution?

on the website interpals you can find many Indians looking for someone to talk with and practice their english with who would be happy to help you learn for free, you may even meet some cute Indian girls
