Schopenhauer is extremely easy to read, requires only the most bare-bones cursory (mis)understanding of Kant, writes in a way that is actually enjoyable instead of painful, and echoes every single ingrained defeatist loser belief that boardposters harbor in a manner that is, on the surface of it, more respectable than the linkin park lyrics where they are also found, since it is written in a philosophy book, which means that someone who quotes Schopenhauer won't be called out as a faggot as quickly as someone quoting linkin park, even though the two things are essentially the same.

One the other hand, Hegel is difficult, requires you apply yourself, and requires you to be erudite in Kantian philosophy and post-Kantian idealism and romanticism.

Of course /lit/fags are Schopenhauerians.

H*gel is the most lukewarm and unchallenging "thinker" ever to rise to fame, even more vapid than Oscar Wilde aphorisms. His ""complicated"" concepts are just literary experiments that do not question anything nor offer anything new, he is bourgeois narrow-mindedness incarnate, the herald of the status-quo of hierarchies presenting himself as the holder of Objective Truth.
On the other hand, Schopenhauer keeps things subjective, and his passion only demonstrates his high esteem of mankind. He isn't right about much but certainly is a higher grade of human than H*gel

Hegel was quoted in a fucking video game and had many many loyal followers. You're overestimating how hard it is to get into Hegel.

>Schopenhauer keeps things subjective
You're a complete idiot. Schopenhauer is a monist and ties that to the will-in-itself.
