That's the point of the book, none of the three matter in the slightest, neither could they help the guy. Throw in a girl who loves me (or you), and what do I respond? "I hate you, and I hate myself times more than I hate you, so however much I want you to love me, I cannot accept that love nor can I love you back." To continue loving me after that (and I was very persuasive in expressing the message) the girl has to be a literal Jesus. That's another point of the book, unfortunately cut out by Tzar's censorship: natures like that can only be saved through Jesus' love.
