How do you guys think the real Beatrice would've reacted had she read The Divine Comedy?

I know the meme answer is, like, ummmm totally creeped out, hard pass, that's gonna be a yikes from me dog lol k. But she'd probably have seen it for what it was: part homage, part literary convention--incidentally it was a very famous work at least by reputation among the average citizen and Dante himself was well-respected with reverence. The guy was much more of an alpha rather than the incel many of the 'guys' on here project; he was a soldier and a 'pharmacist' with four kids. The interesting non-incel question is what his fucking wife thought when she read it.

She would have fucking died.
The book is literally a history book / epic poem / religious treatise / a judgement on the history of his world and surroundings and all that led up to it. It is beyond based

kind of. i live in a small town and i have no friends. we're both ~21. i went to a different high school than everyone else in my town so i lost tough with all of them, since i never had social media. last summer me and my boss (blue collar manual labor) go to the only local cafe for lunch. she is a waiter there and i haven't seen her since 7th grade. neither of us acknowledge it, but boss says she is eyeing me. she's very beautiful. this incident fucked me all up for weeks, but i only saw her like 2 or 3 times that summer. one time when we were done eating she came over and stuttered over her words asking me if i was "all done with that", but there was literally just a greasy plate with a used napkin on it in front of me kek. saw her once again at the bank months and months ago, then again at the cafe like two weeks ago. also she had a crush on me in 5th grade.

If Beatrice wasn't his wife, I'm sure he told her she was.

She's a lesbian living in Paris with her two girlfriends. We almost kissed when we were both 15. He eyes are fleeting and brilliant, her smile soft and full of love. We still talk sometimes, although not often. I am getting married in a month to the woman I love but I still think about her sometimes. It's fun to imagine the young romances I never experienced.

Well, what can I say? She's an incredibly cute and adorable girl, I fell for hard; somebody that inspires me to try to be a better person even though I have never had (and will never have) any kind of meaningful interaction with her - just like Dante and his Beatrice.
It's too bad about all the drama around her, but at least my idealized image will live on; the platonic ideal of Bonbi if you will.

I had a Beatrice. A woman with a lingering effect on me, who I'd disconnect and reconnect with over the years.
I would write poetry about her. Never told her about that, of course. I even came up with a poetic name that was similar to hers, that fit my verses. I even gave her an expensive ring I happened to have, for her birthday, when she was crying over some personal thing. She wore it on a daily basis for years, it seems. It was a hilariously subtle counter-double-cucking, when she'd flirt with me in front of her boyfriend I just met, proudly introducing me as the guy who gave her this ring.
She wasn't my Beatrice, in that I never saw her as some far away angelic perfection. I knew she had problems, of the psycho bitch variety. She led me on, in fact, and I know this because it's a well known character trait of hers. I actually gave her a lot of shit, and never kissed up to her like the rest of her effete orbiters. But she seemed to like this about me, and we had a unique relationship. I became friends with one of her exes, and he said instinctively hated me for the way she acted around me (and others seemed to pair us, as well).
One day, we had a three hour conversation in her car, and spilled our deepest doubts and wants. She was vulnerable in a way she's never been. We bonded. I guess she wanted to rush to her dream to start a family with kids, living that rich suburban life (not ever mentioning how her current man fits into this).
Later, I asked her to meet me to confess. I thought we were on good terms, but from then on, she started to treat me like shit, like she was lashing out at me, and not in good humor as usual. It felt unwarranted, when she's the one who spurred me to "say how I really feel."

At this point, in the same social circle, I accidentally had to see her proposal by another man, and unintentionally bombed some of the photos by subtly flipping off the camera manned by one of my buddies (I had no clue what was going on until I saw her father).
Her husband was a nice guy, but also came off as a passive, pussy-whipped fag (especially since he heartfelt """converted""" to her religion for her).
After the wedding, she learned she was barren. It all came out on top for me, really.
