hi /lit/
I'm not sure if any of you can help me, but I'll try anyway. I want to a book for my boyfriend, but I'm not sure what I should get him. He's interested in physics, philosophy, evolution, and religion (he is an atheist) It doesn't necessarily need to be nonfiction, although I think that'd be best.
Help?

>Physics

Some obvious ones to read but if he hasn't read them yet get him these books:

A Brief History of Time By Stephen Hawkings

Evolution of Physics by Albert Einstein

Physics of the Impossible: A Scientific Exploration into the World of Phasers, Force Fields, Teleportation, and Time Travel by Michio Kaku

These are some off the top of my head, he's gonna love the 3rd one if he hasn't read it yet.

Pic related.

Based on this I'd say something by Terry Buzan, perhaps Master Your Memory. For an overlook on the subject, as well as hypnosis, NLP, how to cheat at blackjack etc (it sounds like he would like this) get him Trick of the Mind by Derren Brown.

So far The Quantum Nietzsche and Theory of Everything look the best. The Quantum Nietzsche seems like it covers topics that would interest him more, but Theory of Everything seems like it would be a less difficult/more fun read. Any opinions?

This and possible A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking.

I recommend Food of the Gods. But from a technical perspective on mycelium it takes a long time going over the same topics, which is fine. The topic is quite provocative and should be discussed but I think it sells it's movement short by focusing so much on certain provocations. I would recommend some stuff by Paul Stements(Mycelium Running) or Masanobu Fukuoka(The One-Straw Revolution) which really do serve a good foundation for the sorts of things presented in Food of the Gods and should probably be read before reading Food of the Gods.
