Maybe if proof were a completely either/or, yes or no affair. But it isn't. There are plenty of archaeological and textual sources to support that the Achaemenid empire existed. There are only a few ancient sources claiming, in ambiguous circumstances, that Atlantis existed. At least when Herodotus said that the north of Europe was filled with one-eyed men and solid walls of falling feathers that he was reporting it as if it was true. Plato's intent in giving his myth can't even be determined.

The question of whether Atlantis existed isn't "can you prove anything from the past existed," it's "why do we have no proof of it when we have proof of many other things." Like I said I'm sympathetic to it, but this theosophist isn't arguing ingenuously.

Also according the the myths about Theseus and the Labyrinth they had subjugated Athens and forced it to offer child sacrifices.

Now maybe the child sacrifice stuff is just myth but it seems unlikely to be pure coincidence if there’s this civilization that meets all the Atlantis requirements, and there is Athenian folklore about this same civilization that was likely a naval power same as in Plato’s story, that also subjugated Athens.

To top it off the Minoan civilization wasn’t even called that, we named them that, we still haven’t deciphered their alphabet, they may have actually called themselves something like Atlantis.
