There is no clear definition because uses the hierarchy to manipulate the behavior of his followers. He arbitrarily declares things like using the phrase "it seems" as being gamma behavior in order to discourage it. What is worrisome is that he has a lot going on the image he projects to his followers, and he seems to be exposing himself a lot to a public that he doesn't have the feel for their psychology (Gen Z's irony and sarcasm seems to be over his head, or at least he pretends it does). The definition and distinction he applies to rhetoric and dialectic are not meaningful. For him it comes down to talking intelligently or talking manipulatively. It's dumb because the actual distinction he's making is between two styles of rhetoric.

The whole thing is very self serving, as is everything he does. If he makes a good argument, that's dialectic. If he makes a bad argument and gets called out on it, well then he was just speaking rhetorically and you're a sperg for not understanding it.

He posts twice a day on his blog and has for maybe 20 years now. He seems to have some skill or experience in organizing online mobs.

He's a textbook rich kid dilettante. He cut his teeth on writing as his method of building influence, first as a columnist at his dad's WorldNetDaily and then later as a blogger with a few midlist novels tossed in somewhere. He's too old and set in his ways to make the transition to video or public speaking.

I don't think he's totally without merit. Some of his dipshit behavior is performative, made worse by his inability to master the video medium. His book The Irrational Atheist actually did a pretty good job of refuting a lot of early-2000s atheist talking points, and I'm glad he set up Castalia House even if it did turn into Baen Jr.

He needs to stop releasing cringe videos, keep posting on his blog since that clearly works for him, and actually finish a project before he dies. The EPIC FANTASY he started and didn't finish in order to prove to GRRM how easy it would be to write an EPIC FANTASY would be a good place to start.
