I heard the last one ends on a cliffhanger and that his son then picks up from there but his books are pure shit so people just say end on god emperor.

His sons books are bad, I’d call them young adult sci if action. I actually really liked the end of chapterhouse, it’s open ended but at that point you’ve had enough and it’s kinda beautiful. I’ve read some of his sons when I was really young but didn’t care to read how he ends it all

If you're gonna read past the first one I'd just go ahead and finish em. God Emperor is peak philosophical Dune, after that it brings back the action and gets almost pulpy, but not in a dumb way.

Agreed on the cliffhanger being oddly satisfying. Like the series had gotten so goddamned weird that ending on just a note of, "you have no idea how weird shit can get" felt right.
Kind of feels the same as how the new Twin Peaks ended.

And then his kid commissioned and sold that embarrassing drivel. He ought to be ashamed.
