1. How does Guenon reconcile his mythological cosmology with the scientific evidence of evolution and the anthropological account of primitive religions? He makes spirituality seem so profound when he is expounding the vedas but when you look at a bunch of savages worshipping trees and animals the whole thing seems a lot less impressive and a begin to wonder if it true when they say that religion is just a social construct for the primitive mind to try and understand the world.

Now respond to yourself, Guenonfag.

>scientific evidence for evolution
science is meaningless politicized nonsense that changes and often backpedals with each generation

>anthropological account of primitive religions
based on unproven assumptions

I suspect that the sciences are over-inflated in their claims to knowledge but I have no idea where to begin or how long in would take to do a critique of them.

There was less scientific evidence for evolution in his day but even today he would have probably just admitted the survival of the fittest but while denying that life began by random from a primordial soup suddenly making DNA or whatever but that the hand of Providence was at work. Mythological cosmology is very easy to interpret as being symbolic, Guenon saw all that as reflecting metaphysical principles anyways so it's easy to regard the cosmology in various religions as being a symbolistic framework for how the universe emerged from the One, etc. As for the anthropological account he disregards it entirely as considers it a mistake of moderns who imagine the ancients to have primitive minds.

Evolution is not 'survival of the fittest', it is survival of the 'fit enough'
