Which Dune books are worth reading?

None of them.

The first is meant to be the best but the first page literally spells out a massive plot arc then the next 150 pages (at least) is the book slooooooooooooooooowly crawling towards that event with nothing other than painfully boring worldbuilding to sustain it.

None. First one if you still feel the duty to read it for "general culture". A reader of serious literature, if they've developed their critical faculties, is very unlikely to find anything worthwhile in the books. Supposedly the fourth one is especially philosophical, but I doubt it's worth it.
