Okay /lit/ apparently you're one of the cleverer boards. Show your reasoning.

Are there no original ideas? Do you think every possible thought that is able to be thought by man already been thought?

Pretty much yeah.

No.

No simply because every time someone has said that in the past it has not been the case. It could be now, but the odds aren't great

No, and any simple new development in mathematics is proof of this. Literal proof.

We're not. At this point, fucking /v/ is beating us.
>Are there no original ideas? Do you think every possible thought that is able to be thought by man already been thought?
Yess/no. If I tried to bust out an 'original thought' right now, I certainly couldn't do it, but that's not the way thinking works. It's about viewing things from a new perspective that adds a gloss over a previous idea. It's why people never stopped discussing Hamlet and the Odyssey. There's always more conversation.

Assuming I can propose a record of history, and then that record can be included in a subsequent one, this is obviously not the case. You might need to constrict your definition of thought to get closer to the real object of your inquiry.

Besides the coomer and pepe threads, we're not THAT bad. Granted, most of this board is coomer and pepe threads at this point, but there's still the occasional intelligent discussion, which is more than /v/ at least.

No, why would you think that? What evidence would you have for it?

Have you been on /v/ recently?

Are you being serious? I vastly prefer the coomer and pepe threads to the fucking Dawkins and Marx threads.

Admittedly, no. Last time I went there it was mostly Persona-related, if I'm remembering it as it was.

There's no way of knowing for sure and it also really doesn't matter. Originality is a brainlet's concern.
