In the sciences the choices for the Nobel prize have been by and large good in my opinion. How is it for lit, /lit/? Overall how do you find the selections and are there any specific choices you find objectionable or praiseworthy. Are there other prizes which are better indicators of quality in your view?

no doubt it's euro-and-scandanavian-centric. Also bob dylan--that's kinda fucked up

I don't really know or care about prizes yet--this irish lit guy i follow/admire trusts the man booker prize

I completely forgot about when Bob Dylan won, guess 2016 was just so odd overall it didn't stand out as much as it should. How do you feel about this year's winner, peter handke? I don't know much about him personally.

Bob dylan was a bunch of bullshit. I cannot emphasize this enough. They only picked him because an americunt was due and they were feeling nostalgic. Since 1950, there has only been one winner who will go down as a great writer--Beckett. All the others are merely good writers at best.
