His entire universe was retroactively refuted by Guenon's cosmology.

Eh, they're better than I had expected, though it seemed to me he tried to cover too many subjects in the first few mistborn books. He brings up some fairly interesting topics, but then moves on to the next before he's laid out anything meaningful.
I've yet to read oathbringer, but I'm not in a hurry to get to it. What're your own thoughts on the guy's works OP?

Wow so creative. How about you go ahead and write a long novel.

Read the way of kings a little while ago and this is what I remember of my impressions.

The first was how shockingly simple the writing was. There are no egregious passages, nothing dazzles either. He certainly has stock phrases and words; describing various nouns as being "too-X" or too-Y", and you better hope you love the word "slathered" as much as he does. I had a few other examples but they have slipped my mind.

The book was long but the chapters were short. It is a smart move to structure his book this way because, considering the length of the book, and current attention spans, it gives you a small dopamine spike and the illusion of progress even when the chapters are samey and the plot inches forward.
I hand it to him that he has found a way to make very long books easily digestible. I would describe the experience of reading The Way of Kings as frictionless. Your eyes can slide over 400 pages with complete ease, but it makes little impression.

Finally, and I suppose this is a matter of taste, despite being an epic fantasy novel of 1000 or so pages, it did not feel particularly epic. It certainly had adaptation in mind from the get go, but not a cinematic one. This is a "prestige" TV series that can't afford to blow its budget on any particular scene so settles for brief instances of lukewarm action across 12 episodes.

the second and third books are much much better.
i personally liked the first book a lot even though the arcs were relatively simple
