Why did no one tell me Wittgenstein was some crazy Jewish Nazi mystic, who read Spengler, Weininger, the Vedas, and the Gospels? Why isn't he discussed here?

>Why isn't he discussed here?
he wrote like three short tracts which are brought up constantly

He used to be one of the most discussed philosophers on /lit/, if not the most discussed. You'd always see threads about Wittgenstein "ending" philosophy. Everyone around that time seemed to be reading Ray Monk's biography on him, which by the way is excellent. That was before /lit/ became so political and religious.

Also Tolstoj and Aquinas and Augustine.

Anyone know if he was actually a homo?

Yes it was. You might be thinking of a later Wittgenstein phase.

Wittgenstein was a weirdo. You get a glimpse of this in some of Hayek's writings. (The two were related)

Check out the short "Remembering My Cousin Ludwig Wittgenstein (1889-1951)" in Hayek's "The Fortunes of Liberalism."
