cowardly is an acceptable adverb
the real problem is that she used adverbs in two consecutive sentences

it probably isn't the word i would have chosen, but "archaic" words are still valid.

the phrase is hide like a coward. Thats how its said in colloquial english, which is what a tweet is. So she was wrong in, even if intentially (which isnt the case), she used an archaic and purposely difficult sounding more literary term for a simple thought, but I suppose at her level not thought is simple, even making toast must be a real travesty.

Cowardly as an adverb is pretty fine, unlike using 'melancholy' or even 'cowardly' as adjectives. English fucking sucks.

It sucks because you turn perfectly normal syntactical uses of words into aberrations. The Anglo mind is a hungry beast, picking and choosing whatever comes to its front and hastily masticating it, turning it to an unrecognizable mush. There are no nations on Earth more stupid than Anglo ones.
