I graduated a few months ago with an English degree. These SJW types have infested the humanities. Most people in my classes either dont read or read terrible shit (John Green, Hunger games, etc). Feminism, marxism, and SJW nonsense have a death grip on the American university system. I did the same as you did. I was probably the most conservative English literature enthusiast and student in the room at any given moment, but I kept a lot of it quiet. At most, I appeared to have an unusual inclination for the old, and a lack of interest in the new. My professors probably just thought of me as interested in antique literature, more than anything else. Somebody even thought I was a Bernie Sanders supporter, although I didn't confirm or deny that, I just side-stepped my way through that conversation by highlighting maybe one or two things I liked about him, and directed the conversation to another topic.
