Looking for a list of books, or somewhere to start, to become well-rounded and well-informed on a variety of subjects. I've realised that I only have a surface-level knowledge of most things, and I feel stupid in conversations about anything important. I want to read some books that'll help me become more knowledgeable. I know this is quite vague, but to be honest I'm not even sure exactly what I want.

Just read everything you see. I would start with a dictionary and Ulysses by Joyce...
Now I’m not saying finish the dictionary, but reading at least one page a day can help with your vocabulary. Try to learn one word a day.
Move to the great book series...

Use your local library—- they can answer so many questions, and point you in the right direct when you want to research a specific topic. Good luck anon. —-anon used to be ASAP

I was going to say, "and after that you should read Foucault's Pendulum," but there it is in the list for some reason. Along with Graeber's excellent book about the anthropology of money.
Man what a weird assemblage.

Read read and read
I don't know, just take books you have at home and read them. Then read the classics of literature. I'm attaching some charts, I'm thinking you want to become an autodidact.
I'd start with the Bible, the Greeks and your national canon. Then you'll know what to do.

Read and before you know, knowledge will be with you. But don't forget it all comes from God and without him its sterile. Ask for it
