I liked him when he first appeared, with the whole innocent/punctuation failure/super strong thing.
Then the whole weird "he might actually be a cunning manipulator, using his apparent oblivious demeanour as a bait" subplot came along and was never explained.
Now I hate him with passion.

I mean, you have Vetinari, who manipulates like a cham, but at least he has the decency to be honest about being a cunning bastard and is consequently disliked by most everyone.
Carrot is liked no matter what.
There were a few downright creepy parts where Angua and Vimes think about how they cannot not like Carrot although they maybe should.
