Just read man. Do a bit each day. The problem is you are used to things that are designed to trigger that joy, rather than you being able to trigger thag joy yourself. One required you investing into a story or a character or using imagination, the other basically just requires you to have eyes.

as a kid in probably around 6th grade i read almost the entire HP series, got bored at the 6th one. Still don’t know how I managed that. Reading now is pretty tough for me too so I would just turn off all electronics and lights except for a desk lamp and just read. Only way to do it is to just fuckin do it you know. Reading right before bed time is a good idea too
