I wonder how OP deals with the verses describing the Earth as flat, or that the sun sets in a pool of muddy water, or the existence of a tribe of people set behind a huge wall called Yajuj and Majuj.

Is he a convert for aesthetical reasons (the elegance of the Arabic Qur'an when recited, the form and ritual of the salah, Islamic architecture)? Or is he one of those white Sharia types, or is he a liberal who wants to join the side of the 'little guy'.

It would explain his attitude, mainly indifference, to these falsehoods in the Qur'an.

Lol cope. You'll do anything to make your belief unfalsifiable. Why do I even need to know Arabic? Are you fluent in Arabic, and do you hold beliefs about the Quran? If so that makes you a hypocrite. I don't need to know Arabic when there is already a plethora of material by competent scholars out there who already produced a heap of quality material in English on the Quran (i.e. tafsir). The fact is the Quran teaches a flat Earth, and the Arabic bears it out.

https://wikiislam.net/wiki/Flat_Earth_and_the_Quran

I have not seen a good response to this. In my study I found numerous Muslim scholars who've held to the belief that the Earth is flat and stationary.

And then you have Majuj and Yajuj. Even your best have a problem with it.

What do you do? Simple. Just obfuscate the matter. Say its suprarational, whatever. Just reinterpret the Quran to say things it doesn't.

Some scholars have interpreted some verses say the Earth is flat, the Qur'an doesn't literally say it is flat.

It's not a numbers game. It's the what the text says. The Quran says the Earth is flat. I appeal to the scholars because a) it says that before the advent of heliocentrism and NASA there were Muslim scholars who believed it was flat and it is not like today where they're trying to save face and avoid losing their positions (and thus money), and b) there is scholarly weight to the position.

> There are more controversial topics
You say this because this proves the Quran to be the product of a 7th century Arab who was not receiving revelation from the all-knowing creator of the universe.

Why discuss anything else when we're still at the starting line.
