How can we reunite Science and Philosophy again? Not as a single, unified system but two independent fields of study that learn and grow from each other.

They are inverses of each other. Science is to know everything about nothing, philosophy to know nothing about everything. Since when were science and philosophy united?

Both are incompatible. Knowledge is infinite and the truth inconceivable insofar that not everything can be known. Science deals with fact and philosophy deals with truth. It has been debated for centuries whether if truth is through our senses or through our minds (empiricism, rationalism) even in a post-Kant world the debate won't end anytime soon. And science can be reduced to pure empiricism. There is no fruit that either philosophy and science bears that can be shared by either of the two.

Empiricism is simply observations that any idiot can make. The only difference is that people with money can afford the obnoxious and exorbitant setups needed to make those same shitty observations worth nothing but on things no one else can see or understand. For example, sending machines to the moon to laser beam a rock.

Science is not what you think it is. Science and Philosophy are in a very serious relationship. What’s going on is that technology, since the industrial revolution, has transformed into a hyper functional cybernetic machine with veins stretching out over land air and sea everyday. Artificial intelligence? LOL look at the Machine, what sense is there to be made of it? Traversing the real and virtual leaving us stupified. In one instance it is holding you hostage, in another it is fulfilling all of your dreams

>> No.13930583

No. Philosophy is about making up bullshit out of thing air. Science is about observing the universe and making conjectures out of it.

The only use philosophy has is in humanities, and that's where it should stay.

2000 years ago, yes. Not the case from descartes onwards. But at least Kant & all were explicit about their "philosophical" system being shit (ironically enough, academics missed this line in kant's work kek)
